Will Home Based Businesses Keep Children Out of Daycare?
Ashland, MA., September 16, 2009 – Ashland resident Kimberly Reddington, Moms in Business Thoughtleader and Founder of CereusWomen.com, was recently chosen to be a mentor for the innovative Young Women’s Career and Mentor Kit (CAMKIT™) Program. Barbara Passero, CAMKit founder and director, says that, “Kimberly Reddington is a special person – an excellent role model and mentor both as a software engineer and a business coach for the young women in our programs. Or, in the newly minted word, a ‘mompreneur.’ To stay home with her first child, she left a comfortable, well-paying position to start her own consulting business.”
Kim says that, “After three years, the limits of working for someone else inspired me to start my own business. I needed to be home for my son and to have the freedom to work a flexible schedule that fit my family’s needs. I knew I had the necessary skills and drive; I was confident that I would do well.” Kim’s self-confidence led her to build a software consulting business that earned 6-figures while working only part-time in a field where others were working a full day. And she built this successful business while raising three great children.
After consulting for over 13 years, Kim recently made a career shift, launching CereusWomen.com to help other moms discover their passions. She noticed a need in the Mom Community for women to gain the confidence and knowledge to start a business that will afford them the flexibility and freedom that is only found by working for yourself. “I want to support other moms who want a lifestyle that will allow them to stay home with their children while still continuing to work. I teach moms the importance of finding your passions and developing the confidence to take your business to the next level, as well as the know-how to balance your business and your family. I want other moms and their families to experience the same freedom and quality of lifestyle that I experience while growing my business from home.”
