Top sales weekend predicted for e-tailers on VoucherCodes.com
Cancellation of postal strike means online shopping interest set to boom
VoucherCodes.com, the UK’s original online voucher codes provider, predicts this weekend is set to be the biggest yet for discounts and voucher codes following the cancellation of the postal strike. James Carter, managing director of VoucherCodes.com, comments: “E-tailers that have been wary of targeting online shoppers due to concerns about delivery options in time for Christmas are now back on track and preparing to go full steam ahead in order to attract consumers.
“Traditionally, the golden hours between 4-6.00pm on Friday afternoons are when retailers release their biggest discounts in order to boost sales figures for the week. The cancellation of the postal strike means that voucher codes are going to be vital tools for e-tailers to leverage in order to attract market share. As a result, we’re expecting a flood of sales and promotional offers to become available today and in the weeks to come.”
VoucherCodes.com, which celebrate its fifth year of operation this month has over 4000 brands on its site. Earlier this week the site announced its first batch of long term offers that will stay valid throughout the Christmas shopping period.
James Carter continues: “Our vouchers demonstrate the tactics that retailers are employing this year. They want consumers to choose them to secure those Christmas sales. We had an offer from Wallis offering 20% and then the next week Dorothy Perkins offered us 25%. I wonder who will be next and if they’ll go up to 30%. This is the question consumers should be asking themselves.”
