In 2012, Lucien Barrière Hôtels and Casinos will be celebrating its 100th anniversary!

The family company founded in 1912 by François André and built up by Lucien Barrière, Diane Barrière-Desseigne and Dominique Desseigne in turn, has become the leader in the casino and luxury hotel industries in France over the decades.

In just one century, Lucien Barrière Hôtels and Casinos has become :

• No. 1 on the casino market, with 39 casinos in Europe and 34% market share in France

• A leading luxury hotel operator with 17 hotels including 10 5-star hotels, and catering with over 130 gourmet bars and restaurants (2 of which with stars)

• An acclaimed entertainment provider with over 2,800 shows/entertainment events per year

• An on-line poker operator with the BarrierePoker.fr. website.

Given that turning 100 does not happen every day, Lucien Barrière Hôtels and Casinos will be celebrating an outstanding track record throughout 2012 by offering guests exceptional moments. The kick-off for the anniversary year was given on Sunday, 8th January, on Saint Lucien’s day in tribute to the man who developed the resort concept à la française and gave his name to the Company.

An anniversary gift to all the little Luciens

Given that the Company’s history is closely linked to its customers’, Lucien Barrière Hôtels and Casinos would like to blow out its 100 candles with its customers. With this in mind, on Sunday 8th January 2012, Lucien Barrière Hôtels and Casinos kicked off the start of its 100th anniversary with the first gift, in tribute to Lucien Barrière…

Are there any little boys whose first name is Lucien in your family under the age of 12? Are you soon to be the proud mummy or daddy of a little Lucien? In tribute to the man who took on the incredible challenge to modernise and develop the family business which bears his name today, Lucien Barrière Hôtels and Casinos invites all little Luciens and their parents to discover and share the Barrière magic for one night, in any Barrière hotel they wish.

Cocktails of the century

Stéphane Ginouves, winner of the Meilleur Ouvrier de France, in the Barman category, who currently puts his talent to work at the Hôtel Fouquet’s Barrière in Paris, has created the Cocktails of the Century Collection, made up of four seasonal cocktails (winter, spring, summer and autumn) to try out in all Barrière hotels and casino bars. The Cocktails of the Century are based on well-known flavours such as aniseed, chocolate, coffee, etc. mixed with others, producing surprising associations, delicate and full of flavour: coffee mixed with black current liqueur, Pastis with lemonade… a host of surprises for your taste buds.
