The search for India’s finest wedding photographer is happening now

The Kodak Better Photography Wedding Photographer Of the Year 2011 –  Last date for submission of entries is 20th  February 2012.

Mumbai February 8th 2012: As the third edition of the Kodak Better Photography Wedding Photographer of the Year 2011 unfolds, the magazine is on a lookout for India’s best wedding photographer.

The contest is currently in its call for entry phase as the last date for submissions is 20th February 2012.

The Title Partner for the competition is Kodak; Associate Partners are Canvera and Photoquip and the Media Partner is CNBC TV18. Wedding Sutra has joined on board as the Online partner while Miss Malini is the Blogging Partner.

With no entry fee attached, this contest is open to citizens of India including Non Resident Indians. The quest for the third edition of India’s best wedding photographer began through a grand scale pan India hunt from the remotest towns to the metropolitan cities of India.  The final winner walks away with a trophy and a grand cash prize of 1 lakh rupees.

The entries will be judged across six categories namely

1. Bridal Portraiture
2.Couple Portraiture
3.Family & Friends
4.Emotions
5.Behind the Scenes
6.Photo Series on a Single Wedding

This year there will be a special award for the Best Female Wedding Photographer.

The contest is promoted on a large scale through television promotions on CNBC TV18, CNN IBN, Awaaz, CNN IBN, Lokmat. Magazine advertisements in Better Photography, Overdrive, T3, Chip, AV Max, Better Interiors, Entrepreneur, Burrp, Noise Factory. Banner advertisements across web18 sites including In.com , moneycontrol.com , ibnlive, ibn khabar, cricketnext.com, burrp.com and E-mailers to Infomedia 18 database of 5lac +  along with partner databases.

Social media is being targeted through Facebook and Twitter and the contest is promoted across Kodak studios through banners, standees and fliers.

The entries are being collected through a dedicated website (http://betterphotography.in/wpoy/) and physical print entries by post are accepted.

After the date of submissions, there would be a Category judging by an esteemed panel of judges. The chosen contestants will have a Face-off which would be judged by a renowned photographer.  The winner will be then provided the stature of Kodak Better Photography Wedding Photographer Of the Year 2011 at a gala award ceremony.

Award nominees will be announced in the March 2012 issue of Better Photography while the final winners will be showcased in the April 2012 issue.

The final ceremony will be televised as two separate half hour shows on CNBC TV18.
