San Jose, CA – Shadowplay Productions (AKA BL Rocky), is bringing the cult classic The Rocky Horror Picture Show to the Camera 3 Cinema in San Jose for a Halloween event on Saturday, October 29. This show will include a preshow performance, costume contest with prizes, dancing, audience participation and full re-enactment of Rocky Horror while the movie plays on the big screen. The Camera 3 is located at 288 2nd Street, San Jose, CA 95113. Doors open at 11:30pm and the show begins soon after. Rocky Horror also plays at the Camera 3 on the first and third Saturday of every month.
Rocky Horror Halloween
Halloween is considered to be the “birthday” of The Rocky Horror Picture Show. Every year thousands of people across the nation purchase tickets to midnight showings of the cult classic. Attendees are encouraged to purchase tickets in advance and show up early for good seats.
Fans of Rocky Horror admonish that attending a live screening is a completely different experience than watching the movie at home. The film is enhanced by live “shadowcasts” and audience participation throughout. Halloween is the perfect time of year for both Rocky Horror veterans and people who are interested in experiencing this midnight movie classic for the first time.
The Camera 3
Camera 3 Cinema, known as the premiere South Bay venue for independent and foreign films for more than 20 years, temporarily closed in 2004 with the opening of our Camera 12 Cinema down the street. Continuing the tradition of providing unique and independent programming, Camera 3 re-opened in February 2008 with new Dolby Stereo SR sound systems in screens one and three, and pillow back chairs with upholstered arms and cup holders in screens two and three. Camera 3 is proud to host late-night movie entertainment with The Rocky Horror Picture Show and screenings of a different cult film each month. The venue is also home to Psycho Donuts, a “light-hearted asylum for wayward donuts.”Psycho Donuts creates Rocky Horror themed donuts to accompany showings of the cult film.

Shadowplay Productions is the group that produces the BL Rocky presentation of The Rocky Horror Picture Show, along with various other productions, including Oscar Parties, New Years events and more. The live RHPS cast has been active since 1995, when it started performing at the infamous UC Theatre in Berkeley. By 1999, the cast moved to the Parkway Cinema in Oakland, where it resided for more than a decade.
