The Bank Release Debut Album: “England For Sale”
The Bank, an alternative rock band formed by Pierre Alexander and Sebastian Stelzer, have released their first album: “England for sale”. The full-length CD is available at CD Baby and downloadable on Itunes in its digital version.
Alexander’s off-the-wall piano playing and singing coupled with Stelzer’s powerful guitar riffs and strong vocal harmonies create an instant musical appeal, reminiscent of late 80′s indie bands like The Jesus and Mary Chain.
The dark -yet constantly melodic- musical landscape offers perfect counterpoint to the pair’s uncompromising lyrics. Their rough painting of English bleakness and the society’s deviant behaviors – school failure, nationalism, early pregnancy, binge-drinking, to name but a few – goes beyond a mere evocation.
All of this makes “England for sale” sound like a rock n’roll bonfire as well as an emergency wake-up call.
