In the warm and cozy atmosphere of Swell restaurant in Knossos Beach Bungalows & Suites (http://www.knossosbeach.gr) that operates during winter too, an interview – more like a friendly discussion with Mr. Lazarou – took place a few days ago.
The chef spoke for the traditional local products of the island and of Greece in general, which he uses and enhances through his creative combinations in all of the restaurant dishes.
Mr. Lazarou said that now more than ever, due to the crisis, it is time to support and promote the local products, which are much better in quality and freshness that many of the imported ones.
Then he spoke about the Cretan wines, that due to the hard work of the Cretans, every year get better and better and now there are many labels worth endorsing.
He announced the upcoming opening of the new “ouzeri” of Knossos Beach, right at the beach, where guests will have the opportunity to enjoy their ouzo, wine or beer accompanied by the chef’s creative sea-food and many more delights by the sea.
Moreover, from this season onwards, Swell Restaurant’s lower level hall that opens up directly at the beach will be dedicated to special events (weddings, baptisms, meetings, etc).
