It is day 10 of the 2011 WSOP and Team 888poker has already won one of the coveted gold bracelets. Canada native and 888poker VIP, Tyler Bonkowski managed to grind out a solid $220,817 bracelet win in the Event #14, $3000 Limit Holdem.
Tyler saw more than a few ups and downs in his heads up battle with Brandon Demes. After several hands, Demes shot up to a major chip lead, leaving Tyler with only 250,000 left in chips, but Tyler fought back and managed to take a 2-1 lead over Demes. Once Tyler managed to get Demes back down to fewer than 500,000 chips, the final hand commenced. With major pressure on Demes, he went all in on a 10s 6d 5c 5h flop with KsQh in his hand. Tyler held a Kd10s, which was good for the lead. The river showed 8h and deemed Tyler the winner of the hand and the event.
After playing the WSOP for a couple of years now with no bracelet wins, Tyler was determined to take home the gold charm in 2011 and this could only be the beginning. With over 40 events still left in the series, including the Main Event, Tyler could see many more bracelets and cash coming his way.
Along with Tyler, the rest of Team 888poker have began taking to the tables at WSOP. 888poker has brought over a team of 30+ qualifiers, VIP’s and Ambassadors to play in several events, as well as, the $10,000 No Limit Hold’em Championship. The 888poker Team is lead by Team Captain, Shane Warne, who will take a seat for the main event on July 9th.
