President Barack Obama was awarded the 2009 Listener of the Year at the 30th annual convention of the International Listening Association (ILA) this past weekend. Previous recipients of this award range from past Tonight Show host Johnny Carson to journalist and author Alex Haley. The ILA convention is held in March as a way of celebrating International Listening Awareness Month.
