Simi Valley Town Center Certified Farmers’ Market Opens June 7
The new Simi Valley Town Center Certified Farmers’ Market is set to open Tuesday, June 7 – a weekly market providing fresh opportunities for shoppers and visitors to the regional shopping center.
The Town Center is partnering with the Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Market Association, which brings Simi Valley Town Center customers more than 25 years of experience operating successful markets in Ventura County, to host the outdoor market from 3 to 7 p.m. each Tuesday in the parking lot near Sliders and Corner Bakery.
The new farmers’ market at the Town Center will offer new, fresh selections on a different day of the week. The Tuesday market also allows area farmers the benefit of harvesting and delivering their crops earlier in the week.
“We are very excited with the new direction for our certified farmers’ market, indicating our commitment to value for local residents and visitors from around the region,” said Dee Dee Nolley, General Manager for Simi Valley Town Center.
The previous Friday farmers’ markets at Simi Valley Town Center will continue through June 3. Moving the market to Tuesday afternoons will free more parking at the Town Center on bustling Friday nights allowing customers wishing to visit the center for dinner more convenience.
The new farmers’ market will offer incentives for shoppers including free shopping bags for the first 500 customers at the market debut on June 7.
Since 1985 the Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Markets have delivered the freshest local fruits, vegetables, bakery items, eggs, nuts, honey, potted plants and cut flowers, all at the peak of season, to locations in Ventura County and Santa Clarita.
The Ventura County Certified Farmers’ Markets are operated by the VCCFMA, which requires that all farmers and producers must raise, catch, gather, grow or otherwise produce products they sell. All other food producers must have verifiable proof of production, an on-site inspection, meet all county and state health department regulations and carry appropriate licensing.
The Association does not allow arts and crafts, commissioned sales, wholesale merchandise, booths for solicitation purposes or re-sales. For more information, visit www.vccfarmersmarkets.com.
