SAN DIEGO BASED “PROJECT RUNWAY” DESIGNERS JESUS ESTRADA AND GORDANA GEHLHAUSEN TO SHOW FALL 2010 COLLECTIONS AT PROJECT ETHOS’ LA FASHION WEEK EVENT
SAN DIEGO, CA – MARCH 5, 2010 – “Project Runway” contestants Jesus Estrada (season seven) and Gordana Gehlhausen (season six) will debut their fall 2010 collections at LA Fashion Week during the Project ETHOS red carpet event on March 19, 2010 at the historic Music Box, 6126 Hollywood Boulevard, Hollywood, CA 90028. Event tickets can be purchased at www.projectethos.com.
Project ETHOS, “the incubator of art, music, and fashion”, is producing the event headlined by Estrada and Gehlhausen and will feature the work of multiple artists, designers, and musicians during an evening of not only creative collaborations, but also philanthropic support for the charity, Love Cures Cancer (www.lovecurescancer.org)
Estrada (www.hausofestrada.com) calls his HAUS of ESTRADA fall collection, “dark and edgy with a twist of punk”. Known for his technical skills and grandiose design aesthetic, his strength as a designer lies also in his ability to immaculately fit the clothing perfectly for each body. The collection features both ready-to-wear and couture women’s and men’s clothing, utilizing knits, leathers, silks, and metal details and accessories, reminiscent of a sexy punk-inspired, skeletal nature.
Gehlhausen (www.shopgoga.com) describes her GOGA by Gordana fall collection as a “play on texture, color, and experimentation with tribal influences of different fabrics, knits, and layers” inspired from her recent trip to China. She believes that women should feel elegant and sexy, but comfortable wearing her designs. Her knits are currently featured in the spring/summer issue of VOGUE Knitting magazine. Also a savvy businesswoman, Gehlhausen owns and operates her boutique, GOGA by Gordana, located in the historic Gaslamp District on 4th and Market Street in San Diego.
The two “Project Runway” alums met at a local fashion show last year and now share a studio together in downtown San Diego. Both Estrada’s and Gehlhausen’s collections will be available at her boutique this coming fall.
