Hip hop group the Ashy L Bowz never claim to be anything more or less than they are and one thing they are never afraid to be is stoned. Such advocates for marijuana they have dedicated an entire video series to the mary jane in the form of “How to Smoke a Blunt” and even released and all marijuana themed EP entitled “Going Green”. Such championship of the sticky icky hasn’t been seen by a hip hop group since Cypress Hill and Red and Meth, so its no surprise that they were contacted to be featured on the website of Americas #1 Marijuana Publication, High Times.
The L Bowz are this weeks featured band on HighTimes.com and rightfully so. Their “How to Smoke a Blunt” series has gained over a quarter million views and comments by stoners all over the world and the “Going Green Mixtape” EP has been downloaded by thousands of fans. However truth be told the group never expected it “When our manager told us we were going to be featured we were excited because we’ve crushed and rolled hundreds of pounds of weed on High Times magazine covers over the years, but the feature is for Unsigned Bands and we don’t play any instruments.” Apparently dope music is the only requirement, instruments are not.
Inspired by the feature the Ashy L Bowz plan to release another episode in the “The How to Smoke a Blunt” series and are also working on another yet to be titled album.
