Psychological Term Papers: Critical Hit Against Violent Video Games
Aggression is triggered by elements that provoke the human mind to act abnormally. Such abnormalities, related to aggressive behavior, includes physical abuse, encroachment of basic rules and laws and violent reaction towards the environment. The prime suspect for aggressive tendencies as pointed by researchers: violent video games.
Psychological studies and scientific term papers indicate that violent video games have contributed amassed profanities and publicized incidents that has left the world aback. Normally, people are vulnerable to different forms of violent media like explicit rap lyrics and fierce action movies – violent video games have obliquely coerced players to emulate what they play from the screen.
Experiment and simulations using functional magnetic resonance imaging (fMRI) have proven that players who are exposed to violent video games for a suitable amount of time develop excessive aggressive behaviors directed toward others. Such developments obtained from playing violent video games repulse normal brain function thus, stimulating harmful executions of abuse against society.
The following video games have contributed controversial reputations for its belligerent and and aggressive gameplay:
1. Grand Theft Auto San Andreas – The main source of parental rage all over the United States; the car-theft simulation alone inspired teens to act as goons and drive around armed with guns. The incident about Devin Moore who shot two people with a shotgun at Interstate 40 is just an example on how effective the game was in causing destruction.
2. Need for Speed: Most Wanted – Reckless driving and the burning of rubber became Alexander Ryazanov and Wang-Piao Dumani Rossracers inspiration to take all their aggression against a cab driver who died during the incident. The two confessed that they were influenced by the game and their addiction to nitrogenous ended in tragedy.
3. Mortal Kombat – Blood splatter and decapitated bodies are just some of the virtual tournament’s brow-raising features. Because of its gory content, lawsuits flamed the game for inspiring players to attack anything on sight without having to think of the consequences.
