Parable candles appear in Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen’s new book.
After appearing on Channel 4′s, ‘Kirstie’s Homemade Christmas’, in December 2009, Parable is now delighted to announce Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen chose three of their luxury candles to appear in his new book. ‘Decorating with Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen’, was released on 5th March 2010 (Quadrille Publishing).
Laurence chose Parable’s Overture and Symphony No1 designs in black with a silver hand-painted finish, in his chapter, ‘Ultra violet’, and a Symphony No1 design in white with a rich gold hand-painted finish, in his chapter, ‘From lowly to lovely’.
Parable’s candles were on display at the exhibition, ‘Putting on The Glitz’, at The Whitworth Art Gallery in Manchester, which Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen opened in November 2008. After seeing them at the opening night, he later requested some for photo shoots for the new book, and Parable were only too happy to oblige!
Kirstie Allsopp was filmed making her own candle in Parable’s Devon workshop back in October 2009 with Nigel Parker. Nigel then took the candle Kirstie made to her house, Meadowgate, in North Devon, to film the Christmas scene shown in the final episode of the Christmas special programme.
“As a small emerging British business, publicity is vitally important to us and we couldn’t have asked for a better start than an association with Kirstie Allsopp and Laurence Llewelyn-Bowen”, said Amanda Barry, Nigel’s partner. “Our new customers are asking why they hadn’t heard of us before now!”.
With their unique, luxury candles now being discovered, Parable hope that more people will visit their website to read their story.
