Orange, the UK mobile telephone giants, have this week launched a mobile phone contract which costs just £5 per month – and includes a free Nokia 2630 handset – in a deal which the founder of a UK deals and discount website, Deal 85, has proclaimed to be the “Hottest UK deal this week!”

The contact offered, which Orange present as “the lowest contract price on the market” is sure to attract the attention of cash strapped UK consumers looking for a better deal on mobile telephony.

This offer was added to UK website Deal 85 on the morning of 25th June 2009 after the Orange marketing team communicated it to the site’s staff by email – the interest in this contract offer has been very high, as Rob Scott, the website’s founder report:

“a lot of people were obviously hearing about the £5 mobile phone contract and Googling it – as we have some excellent search rankings, we were showing up for google searches such as  ‘£5 monthly mobile contract‘ at or very close to the top – it is interesting to note that web users were searching for this term, not us, so people were obviously really interested in this offer – quite simply, it’s the hottest UK deal this week!”

It remains to be seen what, if any, steps will be taken by Orange’s competitors in response to this deal.
