The Holy Synod of the Œcumenical Canonical Orthodox Church Worldwide joins the community of humanity in commending the State of Connecticut for its courageous decision to recognize the sanctity of human life by ending the inhumane practice of state sanctioned death.
As a resident of the State of California, +Metropolitan Scholarios-Gennadius III, OSB, Protohierarch of the Œcumenical Canonical Orthodox Church Worldwide prays for the time when this great state of the Union (California) joins the full community of humanity in recognizing that moral and ethical governance does not require the deliberate extinction of human life.
The Holy Synod of the Œcumenical Canonical Orthodox Church Worldwide vows to continue advocating for the protection and respect of all human life. In turn, it calls on each state in the Union to contemplate a world devoid of violence from every quarter, as well as the inalienable right of all human beings, irrespective of their stage of development to exist without fear of legislative or other forms of officially permitted termination.
