North Hollywood Acting Workshop Focuses on the Business Side
North Hollywood, CA: Stuart Rogers’ Studios, where current and future working actors cultivate their crafts, received tremendous response from their August/September workshop. Currently, the studio is accepting applicants for additional workshops throughout the remainder of 2009.
The six-week sessions are designed to help students increase their aptitude for the business side of the acting profession. “As an acting teacher in Los Angeles I focus primarily on the art of acting, with some business insights,” said Stuart Rogers, owner and head instructor. “But, most people I talk to have more difficulty with the business side of acting than the art of it.”
With the workshop, Rogers aims to help actors improve their capacity for handling the following business functions of the acting profession:
– Auditions/promotional tactics
– Hiring an agent or manager
– Upward mobility in acting roles
– Understanding casting directors
According to Rogers, the workshop will not only dispel limiting ideas regarding the acting business, but also assist students in developing a specific “plan of attack” regarding their careers. The exercises and tools utilized during the sessions are designed to help actors maintain forward momentum for years to come.
