New Healthcare Management Program Now Offered from Three Dade Medical College Campuses
Miami, FL, March 11, 2010 — Enrollment is now open for Dade Medical College’s new Healthcare Management Associate of Science degree program from the school’s Miami, Homestead and Hollywood campuses. The program is comprised of 116 quarter credits and 1360 clock hours spread over 70 weeks and designed to provide graduates with the skill set and industry knowledge required to work effectively in a healthcare setting.
“Our program is one of a kind and prepared by healthcare management practitioners for those that wish to increase their managerial responsibilities or work in healthcare administration,” says Program Director Jorge A. Alvarez, MBA/MHA. “The faculty is made up of healthcare executives with specific experience in the courses offered in the program.”
The program is hands-on and the student is taught practical healthcare management skills such as how to open a medical center, how to manage a physician practice, marketing hospitals, managing a physician staff office in a hospital, credentialing for HMOs and HMO contract negotiations. Other areas of focus: the latest on electronic medical records, finance for healthcare managers and current ethical practices in the healthcare sector.
Healthcare Management program graduates can gain entry level employment with doctor’s offices, hospitals, medical clinics, HMOs, managed health companies, insurance offices and more.
