and Scottsdale Community join forces to create performance inspired by sounds of brain waves.

SCOTTSDALE ARIZONA – March 11, 2010 For the first time in history, , quantum physics and , have collaborated to create a performance work based on the tones of  brainwaves.

Through a grant issued by Maricopa Center for Learning & Instruction, Scottsdale Community College Department of Dance has partnered with Brain State Technologies®, the Leading System for Brainwave Optimization with RTB™ (Real Time Balancing).  The grant allowed SCC dancers to experience individual brain training sessions. The results from these brain sessions were the basis of the inspiration for the development of an original musical score by Xakk Stauber and choreographic work by Chad Michael Hall.

To create the musical score, Stauber converted the dancer’s brain patterns into musical tones.  These tones were separated and eventually put back together into a musical composition. Likewise, Hall translated the same brain patterns into movement for the dancer’s to embody.  The culmination of these two artist’s work “A Matter of Balance and Harmony” choreographed by Chad Michael Hall, will be performed by Scottsdale Community College’s pre-professional multi-discipline ensemble, Instinct DanceCorps.
