Friday Harbor, WA () October 21, 2009 — Project NatureConnect (PNC) at the Institute of Global Education now offers deals for low-cost nature-connected holistic degree trainIng. The program gives travelers the opportunity to green their plans for their vacations through exceptionally inexpensive online degree program books and activities. It enables nature loving vacationers to include, in their , natural area adventures that add an ecotourism component to their vacations. The activities can be done independently or as part of online training, job, or Ph.D. and Masters ecotourism degree programs. The programs credential a traveler to teach the art and science of education counseling and healing with nature at home, as part of their livelihood and in natural areas that they visit, backyard or back country.

The program director, Dr. Michael J. Cohen, author of “Reconnecting With Nature,” has published and teaches accredited Applied Ecopsychology activities and courses. The health and wellness outcomes from sensory contact with natural areas during “green” travel vacations or in local areas are described at the Project NatureConnect Website.

About Project NatureConnect
The pioneering mission of Project NatureConnect is to increase personal, social and environmental well-being by helping individuals genuinely connect their thinking and feeling with the sensitive intelligence of nature’s self-correcting ways, in and around them. The online program’s low-cost, UNESCO approved, training courses and degrees enables its participants to make conscious sensory contact with the life-wisdom of the eons that awaits discovery in natural areas, backyard or back country.

A field report from the journal of one of Dr. Cohen’s students notes, “From these nature connection activities I see that I am drawn to nature, to the stars, and moon, naturally and I gather strength and amazement from them. Now, whenever I feel sad or mad, I take a walk and ask nature to invite and accept my presence. When it does, I breath deeply. All is released from my nerves and I am able to go freely.

It does not matter if it is cold or wet outside, I find that I am drawn to nature during any time of need and I am able to leave my troubles there and gain power and strength from nature’s flow in and around me. It is a giving relationship that we both have. I give my time and awareness to correct things that damage the earth and she gives me her time, strength, and unconditional love.

When I matched myself with an attraction in nature I found love in the trees, leaves, ground, and sky. They are able to withstand all the elements of nature. They adapt to the changes and every year, they still offer fruits as gifts to be enjoyed. I discovered natural forgiveness and producing positive feelings can be used as energy for anyone who chooses to find it in a natural area. I discovered, too, that I am attracted to myself as part of nature. I love my soul because it is my natural source of light, direction, power, and comfort. I gather my knowledge and inspiration from God who leads my spirit. When I am connected to God’s voice, I am able to gather all that he has for me from nature and I use it for the good of myself, my human community and the environment.”
