Do you think your baby could be the next face of Pampers? Modelling is a tough industry but it can also be fun and rewarding. There are lots of things to consider when putting your baby forward for modelling assignments; here modelling agency Models Direct offers you some of the pros and cons.

Pros

• Nothing could make you more proud than seeing your little boy or girl having fun in front of the camera, and even better, seeing them as the face of the latest baby product campaign, whether it’s on TV or in your favourite magazine.

• On modelling assignments there can be lots of people around: other child and adult models, parents and the people in charge. This can help to socialise your child and get them used to being with people they don’t know.

Cons

• You need a very flexible schedule and have access to reliable transport. Castings and assignments can pop up with less than twenty-four hours’ notice.

• We all know those stereotypical pushy parents from film, TV and maybe in real life who force their children into the entertainment industry when it’s not what they really want to do. Don’t turn into them!

• Just like we know about the pushy parents, we also know about the bratty child stars! This shouldn’t be a problem if you’re just doing a few assignments with a commercial agency such as Models Direct, but be conscious if your child starts developing an attitude.

• Look out for signs that your child is becoming too aware or self-conscious about how they look.
