Models Direct were really excited when a number of their baby models were shortlisted, and then picked, to appear on a Channel 4’s ‘Sex Education Show’, in which teenagers found out how hard it is to look after a baby.
Amelia, Paige and Jayden were the lucky babies chosen to appear on the show, which will air later in 2010. The show aims to teach teenagers about the consequences of having unprotected sex – in this case, having a baby. Many teens don’t realise just how much work is involved, so the three babies were brought into a school in Lincolnshire to show them.
The teenagers were asked to feed and change the babies, with the babies’ parents inspecting silently behind the scenes. This could all have been a bit overwhelming for the tots, who are all around ten months old, but Models Direct had some great feedback from the mums.
“Paige was comfortable and happy throughout the day, taking in the new environment and meeting new people. Although she did become a bit overwhelmed for a short time during filming,” the young girl’s mum, Alexandra, informed Models Direct. “I felt comfortable and was in the room all the time.”
“The film crew were lovely and understanding, emphasising that if at any point I was unhappy they would stop filming,” Alexandra continues. “The whole experience was very enjoyable and we cannot wait for another opportunity. Models Direct have been fantastic, excellent communication regarding the assignment.”
Models Direct also had some great feedback from Jayden’s mum Rachel. “It was a good day overall,” Rachel informed the modelling agency. “Jayden looked like he enjoyed the day most of the time, laughing and gurgling to the camera. He had his nappy changed and was fed in a high chair by a teenage couple.”
It’s a tough job being a baby model though, and after all that hard work Jayden was pretty tired by the end of it, as Rachel explains. “He did get a little tired and irritable due to the waiting around, even before filming, as it is a long day for babies; bearing in mind he would usually have an afternoon nap.”
Looks like Jayden and Rachel have caught the modelling bug – she finishes by saying “Hope he gets chosen again for another assignment!”
