Model Miranda Kerr Directing Her Career from Commercial to Catwalk

Model Miranda Kerr has featured in a number of big campaigns, is stepping out with the gorgeous Orlando Bloom and is about to release her own organic skincare range. Now she is trying to do the near impossible: direct her career from commercial to catwalk modelling.

Miranda is known and loved for her girl-next-door appearance and trademark dimples, maintaining a slim but curvy figure. This has led directly to her success as a lingerie model for Victoria’s Secret. Other campaigns have included Maybelline New York, Levi’s and Roberto Cavalli. She has also appeared in the pages of Elle, Australian Vogue and Harper’s Bazaar.

Model Miranda has said she keeps in shape through yoga, jogging and maintaining a healthy diet; she was originally planning to study nutrition before making it as a model. Now it seems she is trying to direct her career towards the high fashion sector and has lost weight to achieve the ‘skinny model’ ideal.

Photos from recent photoshoots for Grazia and V magazines show a new, slimmer figure. In the photoshoot for Grazia, Miranda looked especially skinny, with her ribs clearly visible and extremely thin arms. Meanwhile, Kerr looks stunning but almost unrecognisable in her editorial style shoot for V.

Miranda Kerr has reacted to the media attention that these photos have brought her, saying that it is simply the angle of the camera and the way she is posing that makes her appear so skinny.

“The photo was taken at an angle and I was hunched over that made me look thinner than I am,” the model told the Daily Telegraph. “I have been the same weight for three or four years. I am healthy and fill my body with the right foods. I wouldn’t be able to travel around the world and work if I wasn’t taking care of myself.”
