Megan Fox Transforms Herself Into a Model for Armani!
It has just been confirmed that the Transformers star, Megan Fox, will be the new spokeswoman and model for Armani. Megan seems to be one of those ‘you either love them or hate them’ celebrities, so how will people react to her move in the modelling direction?
The 23-year-old actress will be replacing Victoria Beckham in the advertising campaigns for Emporio Armani Underwear as well as becoming the spokesmodel for Armani Jeans. The photoshoot apparently took place recently, directed by top fashion photographers Mert Alas and Marcus Piggott, but we’ll have to wait until 2010 to see the results.
Victoria Beckham decided not to renew the modelling contract with Armani as she want to focus on fashion designing. She’s receiving plenty of praise in fashion circles so this could be a wise move for the former Spice Girl.
Armani obviously has a ‘look’ in mind when considering models. Earlier in the year Angelina Jolie was confirmed as the face of Armani perfume, and since there have been direct comparisons made between Fox and Jolie, it’s not much of a surprise that Megan has been chosen to model for these campaigns.
It has also been revealed that David Beckham will be replaced by another footballer, Cristiano Ronaldo, as the face of Emporio Armani. However, in contrast to the Beckhams’ steamy campaign for the Emporio underwear range, Fox and Ronaldo will not be modelling in the same photos.
In other Armani news, it looks like Giorgio could be getting political! The brother of Italian fashion rival Donatella, Santo Versace, has appealed to the Italian Parliament to let Girgio join. “Armani is the best candidate to receive the nominee for senator for life,” Santo wrote in a letter. “The image of our country would’ve been very different without Armani’s success in fashion.”
