Local concrete company draws record crowds at Self Build Exhibition
An innovative new idea which allows stairs to be made with plumbing pipes running through them for underfloor heating caused quite a stir at Acheson & Glover’s stand during the recent Self Build Exhibition at the King’s Hall, Belfast.
The product proved to be a real crowd puller, with the company attracting record numbers of visitors at this year’s show.
The second largest precast flooring manufacturer in GB and Ireland, Acheson & Glover dedicated this year’s stand mainly to its precast range of products – and in particular the UltraFloor and Stairs ranges. UltraFloor is a modular reinforced precast flooring system ideal for use in both domestic and smaller commercial projects and the latest innovation allows underfloor heating pipes to run through stairs.
Also catching the attention of visitors was AlphaTherm, from the company’s Concrete Products division – a lightweight insulation block with excellent thermal properties which greatly assists in achieving building regulations U value requirements, is much easier to work with, and saves money on heating costs in the long term.
Home builders from every corner of Ireland attended the event along with building contractors, architects and trade professionals, and Friday’s show proved a huge success with a record breaking 3,000 visitors.
“We got a lot of interest on our stand. Visitors were telling us they would prefer to work with one company for all their building needs – making Acheson & Glover the obvious choice as we offer a wide range of concrete and precast products as well as being able to offer our customers a wide range of solutions which may ultimately save them a lot of time and money,” said Brian Mulgrew, Precast Commercial Manager, Acheson & Glover.
