Just 3 Weeks Left To Claim Your Construction Scholarship
Students contemplating a construction related degree course may not be aware that they are missing an opportunity to claim a £9,000 scholarship, as well as 10 weeks work experience plus the chance to be awarded a further £4,000 in their second year of study.
Construction is suffering a severe skills shortage and in an effort to encourage more young people to enter the industry ConstructionSkills, an industry sponsored body, are offering up to 60 students each year the chance of a scholarship.
The Construction Skills Inspire Scholarship is being publicised by The Construction Student Website in an effort to ensure that the neediest students don’t miss out.
David Cross, who initially set up the site, says: “You often find with these schemes that a lack of publicity usually results in only a select band of people getting the chance to apply. I think this is wrong and goes against the spirit of the initiative. As a former student myself, I understand the financial difficulty that some young students face and would prefer the funding to go to someone who most deserves it?”
Anyone in the UK eligible to study for a construction related degree can apply and the scholarships will be awarded to the 60 students who can best demonstrate that they will benefit from the award. The scholarship will be sponsored by an employer who will interview appropriate candidates and make the final choice.
The closing date for applications is 28th February 2009
