IRELAND BACK IN 2010 WORLD CUP BETTING
-Paddy Power slash odds on replay from 66/1 to 12/1-
A rush of requests from patriotic punters has promoted Ireland’s biggest bookmaker Paddy Power to reinstall Ireland in their outright betting for the 2010 World Cup.
The Boys in Green have been reinstated at odds of 1,000/1 to win next year’s tournament with Paddy Power which is based on the French Football Federation agreeing to replay last Wednesday’s controversial qualifier, Ireland beating France and qualifying for the World Cup and then going on to win it.
Over 500 bets have been placed with Paddy Power on a replay taking place forcing the bookie to slash their odds from 66/1 to 12/1 with a potential payout in excess of €25,000 should the dream replay take place.
Paddy Power said “Punters still believe that miracles can happen. Not only are they backing the replay but now they’re getting stuck into Ireland to win the World Cup. With belief and support like this maybe, just maybe, miracles can happen. C’mon Ireland!”
