He’s won awards for his songs performing them, as well as their being recorded by other artists. ”A Big Gotta Do Done Did” was very successful, and check out his fun Backwoods Lovesine too.
He plays yearly at world famous Bluebird Café in Nashville to great reviews, and you can hear him on Country Radio Stations throughout the Southeast.
Marty Nickel: From ballads to beach songs his music is eclectic. Showing influences from Jimmy Buffet to Lyle Lovett, his style is a mix of Acoustic Americana, Folk and Blues. He won honorable mention in “American Songwriter’ magazine and has a CD titled ‘Changing Skies.’ Coming soon will be a new CD of more tropical and traveling music.
The HUNGRY EAR Coffee House continues a tradition begun in the 1950s by the beat generation, shades of Jack Kerouac, Woody Guthrie and others. It is one of the oldest continuing coffee houses in Greater Atlanta! The Hungry Ear Coffee House features folk, smooth jazz and acoustic music at the Northwest Unitarian Universalist Congregation on the first Saturday of each month.
