Hull is the UK’s ‘wimpiest’ city
Research by the UK’s leading daily city deals website has revealed the top 10 ‘wimpiest’ cities in the UK. Hull tops the poll with only 8% saying they would take part in an adrenaline-fuelled extreme sport, shortly followed by Nottingham and Newcastle.
The UK’s leading daily city deals website, http://www.Groupola.com commissioned a study with 1,473 people across the UK to discover how adventurous they are and which cities were home to Britain’s ‘wimpiest’ people.
The study by group buying website http://www.Groupola.com found residents of Hull are the ‘wimpiest’ with only 8% saying they would take part in an ‘extreme activity’ such as bungee jumping and skydiving. Only 16% of the respondents form Hull would take part in Paint Balling and just 12% said they would go Quad Biking.
According to the research by http://www.Groupola.com, Southerners are the most adventurous, with more than 1 in 3, 34%, of the respondents from Cornwall and 29% of those from Plymouth claiming they would take part in an extreme sport.
Below are the top ten ‘wimpiest’ cities in the UK according to the answers given to the question ‘would you take part in an extreme activity such as skydiving or bungee jumping?’ According to the survey by http://www.Groupola.com:
1. Hull – 8%
2. Nottingham – 11%
3. Newcastle – 12%
4. Leeds – 14%
5. Aberdeen – 15%
6. Norwich – 17%
7. Bristol – 19%
8. Brighton – 22%
9. Southampton – 23%
10. Plymouth – 25%
When asked the multiple-choice question ‘what of the following extreme sports would you most like to do?’ skydiving proved to be the most popular across the UK with 59%, followed by 54% saying bungee jumping and white water rafting with 51%.
