Nashville, TN (www.your-story.org) October 31, 2009 — What originated as a business in custom acoustic guitars has now become a creative twist on handmade jewelry. Cory Batson, along with his father and brother, founded Batson Guitars (www.batsonguitars.com) in 1998. Batson Guitars began steadily growing right away, and Cory’s wife, Christine, started immediately thinking of other ways to showcase the beauty of the woods used in the guitars her husband made. She wanted to create something that was fashionable, yet affordable. With this in mind, Batson Jewelry (www.batsonjewelry.etsy.com) opened its doors in July 2009.

The jewelry is cut from a variety of exotic woods then carefully hand-sanded and polished using Danish Oil, which protects and enhances the natural color and grain of wood. Absolutely no stain is used so each piece is very organic.

Prices range from $9 to $25er item and include earrings as well as pendants. Custom items are also available.

“I purchased the Hollow Square earrings made out of Zebra Wood in September, and I can not believe how many compliments I receive each time I wear them,” said Meredith Gooch, a repeat customer of Batson Jewelry. “I immediately went back to Batson Jewelry’s Web site to purchase a pendant for my sister’s upcoming birthday. She absolutely loved it!”
