First CNWI K9 Nose Work(TM) School in Minnesota

Cottage Grove, Minnesota.  Active Dog Sports Training, LLC is the first dog training school in Minnesota to offer the growing sport of K9 Nose Work(TM) with Certified Nose Work Instructors (CNWI).  Amy Allwine, owner, and Sharon Middendorf, instructor, have been certified by the National Association of Canine Scent Work (NACSW), having passed the seven (7) module course work required for certification.

K9 Nose Work(TM) develops your dog's natural scenting abilities through fun exercises and games.  Nosework uses a dog's amazing sense of smell and their love of performing a task to find a scent.  Any dog can do nose work, no matter what shape, size or age.  K9 Nose Work(TM) is the specific sport created and sanctioned by NACSW.  Inspired by the training methods of detection and search-and-rescue dogs, the training at Active Dog Sports offers the family dog a chance to use their natural instincts of hunting and survival in a safe and positive environment.

K9 Nose Work(TM) classes at Active Dog Sports Training start with Introduction to Nose Work and through the full series of classes, dogs and their handlers work a variety of elements, including containers, interiors, exteriors and vehicles.  Nose work increases the bond between owner and their dog in a fun training environment.

About Active Dog Sports Training

Active Dog Sports Training focuses on providing a fun, safe environment for dogs and their owners.  Amy Allwine, owner, believes Active Dog Sports Training brings a different approach to sport dog training.  "Our philosophy is to focus on building confident teams of dogs and handlers who learn together in nose work, agility and tracking.  We provide a training facility that is for the family dog, not the serious competitor, which is different than most dog sports training schools.

Dog sports include several activities that people can enjoy and even compete in with their dogs.  Active Dog Sports Training offers multi-level classes in nose work, agility and tracking as well as their unique Exploring Tracking, Agility for Fun and Just Courses classes.  Classes   start approximately every eight weeks throughout the year.
