Fast & Fresh have partnered with Race-Calendar.com to promote the Brighton Barefoot 2.
The barefoot 5K & 1K races take place on 6th May 2012 and are part of International Barefoot Running Day. No trainers will be allowed, though minimalist shoes are acceptable.
The course is set in the beautiful Stanmer Park, which was purchased from the Pelham Estate by Brighton Council in 1947 after handed down through the Pelham family since 1721. The park plays host to a large population of bats as well as a café and plant nursery.
Race-Calendar.com will provide online entry for the Brighton Barefoot 2 as well as digital and offline promotion for the event.
Linda Haywood of Race-Calendar.com commented on the partnership:
“Barefoot running has become a worldwide phenomenon following the publication of Christopher McDougall’s book about running with the Tarahumara people in Mexico, Born To Run. With the news that Christopher’s guide, Caballo Blanco, died recently, interest has peaked in the injury-resistant running techniques surrounding ultra-events such as the Copper Canyon Marathon in Mexico.
“For anyone considering trying barefoot running, these 1K and 5K races are ideal entry-level events.
“We are very pleased to support the Brighton Barefoot 2 with our online registration service and digital promotion services.”
