ENERGY SECURITY And EFFICIENCY In The U. S.

” The United Nations (UN) estimates that the total “technically exploitable” potential for waterpower (including marine renewables) is 15 trillion kilowatt-hours, equal to half of the projected global electricity use in the year 2030. Of this vast potential, roughly 15 percent has been developed so far.” Gulf Stream Turbines LLC of Fort Lauderdale, Florida has a simple patented submersible turbine that can provide the U.S. with energy security, along with other new technologies for centuries to come, without depleting whatever fossil fuel reserves we still have. The natural gas market is efficient as far as capacity utilization goes, but a single 1.2 MW Gulf Stream Turbine can offset 10,000 tons of , while supplying the same 85% capacity factor. The energy efficiency is far superior to both and and according to Pike Research, published the 2nd Qtr. of 2009, “The high capital costs associated with technologies is largely avoided with marine kinetics. The capital costs of marine systems will be 50 to 100 times smaller than investments required to create the same amount of electricity from either or solar.” The Turbines will be placed about 20 miles offshore between depths of 80 ft. to 300 ft. in waters 800 ft. to 1300 ft. deep and can be raised or lowered remotely, and powered by the strong, steady, dependable, and constant Coriolis force current, produced by the earth’s eastward rotation.
