The Ecumenical Canonical Orthodox Church endorses Liberty University’s scholarship offer to Miss California Carrie Prejean. This expression of support for Miss Prejean’s courageous support of the traditional concept of marriage between a man and women is to be commended and recognized. As this most sacred of human institutions becomes more diluted, this action by Ms. Prejean is a great model of traditional values that all young people can embrace and support. Therefore, the reward for this courageous action by Miss California should not be surprising, but rather an expected response for one who acts according to the Creator’s will and direction. In response, the Ecumenical Canonical Orthodox Church applauds Liberty University’s generous gift of an education that will assist Ms. Prejean continue on her courageous path of developing ethical principles and spiritual growth.
