Dundalk heralds new designer at Síoda
Sarah Murphy from Síoda Interiors Dundalk has this month achieved success in The Diploma in Interior Design from Limperts Academy of Design http://www.limpertsacademy.com/. This exacting course covered the fundamentals of interior design and decoration, preparing Sarah for a promising career in the Interior Design Industry. During her career to date Sarah has completed a foundation course in Art and Design, then pursued further studies in Interior Architecture in the Manchester Metropolitan School of Art and has now added the Diploma to her list of achievements.
Sarah is from a well-known Dundalk business family with Mum and Dad, Maxine and Tim running Taste Buds and Riva Brasserie respectively. From an early age, Sarah harboured a passion for interiors and this was nurtured by her parents and friends who encouraged her to practice on their own homes! Sarah now describes her style as “Vintage” and takes her inspiration from both the interiors and exteriors of European cities, their streetscapes and houses. At Síoda Interiors, she now encourages clients to re-use, re-create and re-style treasured pieces of furniture using modern quality fabrics.
Whilst talking about her work as a designer in Síoda “any interior design consultant working with interior spaces must have the skill and ability to select appropriate colour and style details, as this is the only way to create interior schemes that are visually attractive and coherent.” She continued “To do this effectively, you need to have a thorough understanding of the elements of style and design, so that you can successfully deconstruct and reconstruct any style effectively, making changes and adaptations to reflect the individual preferences of your client.”
Sarah’s dream is to refurbish an old house in Co Louth using modern fabrics and vintage furnishings. We wish her well for the future and congratulate her on her success.
