Cybit, the UK’s leading online Telematics Service Provider, has announced a new Fleetstar implementation for Volvo Construction Equipment Division, Volvo Group UK Ltd – a wholly owned dealership of the global construction equipment manufacturer. Fleetstar now enables Volvo Construction Equipment to react quickly to customer calls, manage its service engineers more effectively and deliver increased quality of service to customers for whom time is of the essence when waiting for an engineer. The contract is for three years, with a further three year option.
Volvo Construction Equipment uses Fleetstar’s customisable reports to establish and monitor benchmarks for its customer SLAs – most of which relate to response times to emergency calls. Fleetstar will also help the company to manage duty of care responsibilities: average speed reports and elimination of telephone communication – by identifying real-time engineer positions on screen – both contribute to a safer working environment for mobile engineers.
“The implementation of Fleetstar has, from start-to-finish, fitted in perfectly with our business,” commented Glynn Redshaw, National Service Manager, Volvo Construction Equipment Division. “The consultants all have an exceptional understanding of our goals and how the system can fully complement what we’re trying to achieve. This is a working partnership with Cybit – and that’s very important to us.
“We use a variety of the reports from Fleetstar, including the Out of Hours report to verify Business / Private usage policies; the timesheet reporting to verify time spent on jobs; and mileage reports to ensure that none of our drivers travel excessive distances. All this information is so easy to extract that it’s making a significant difference to our business.”
John Wisdom, Sales and Marketing Director at Cybit added: “The role of telematics is becoming more and more integral to operating a business efficiently and with optimum effectiveness. Our work with Volvo Construction Equipment shows how vital an effective partnership with a telematics specialist can be – for example, we helped Glynn and his team recover a stolen van on a Sunday morning! In addition to these exceptional instances, telematics makes a meaningful and strategic impact on a range of day-to-day essentials, such as driver health and safety and operational efficiency.”
Fleetstar-Online is Cybit’s industry leading, scalable suite of Internet-based Mobile Resource Management (MRM) and vehicle tracking tools. The high quality data relating vehicle and job performance is captured in conjunction with location information, reported and analysed through Fleetstar. This allows meaningful business decisions to be made using up to the minute information on operational performance.
Powerful reporting capabilities facilitate effective management of operational costs and productivity; support strategic initiatives around Carbon footprint; and increase compliance with legislation including Duty of Care and Health and Safety. The strategic importance of Fleetstar-generated information extends beyond vehicle tracking into the heart of the enterprise: Fleet derived information can be directly integrated into a range of business systems to improve the efficiency of the entire organisation. Fleetstar provides the business-critical information that organisations need to execute a clear and rapid path to return on investment.
