MELBOURNE, VIC: September 23, 2009 – Australian distributors Tudor Australia and security VAR CoreSight have announced a partnership where CoreSight will resell Tudor’s SanDisk Enterprise range.

The SanDisk Enterprise range offers encrypted USB flash drives to securely store files on portable media. These drives can even help prevent network malware infections through optional on-board malware protection from McAfee.

The SanDisk Cruzer Enterprise FIPS Edition v6.612 and v6.615 are Common Criteria EAL 2 certified and address important data loss and breach issues faced by Government at all levels. This was achieved under the Australian Department of Defence (Defence Signals Directorate) AISEP program.

Anton Goldman, Director at Tudor Australia said, “The SanDisk CMC (Central Management and Control) component allows IT departments to centrally manage company issued Cruzer Enterprise USB drives both inside and outside the corporate environment.“

He continued, “By managing the full lifecycle of the Cruzer Enterprise drives, CMC provides continuous enforcement of company policies. This includes the ability to track and monitor activity beyond the corporate network. Management and control covers initial deployment, tasks such as password recovery and data backup as well as lost or stolen drive termination.”

CoreSight spokesperson Aaron Miller said, “A key attraction of the SanDisk technology for us is the centralised management capability available. It’s a point of differentiation we think is critical for organisations to adopt and leverage this type of technology”.

Technology included on the USB drive itself lends itself for use on a “plug-and-play” basis. Instead of a reliance on users to manually encrypt and manage, the Cruzer Enterprise stores all files in a secure partition using 256-bit hardware-based AES encryption, and decrypts this data on request. Because the crypto key remains on the device, it is safe from software attacks. Users authenticate via a password although this may be strengthened further using the inbuilt optional capability to use RSA software tokens.

Miller commented, “The first things we look for in security technology are the management capabilities and integration with other technologies and products. Good management increases security and decreases administrative workload. Couple with this the ability to integrate with other products and solutions, and it typically allows you to leverage the existing environment which reduces complexity and cost. We saw the SanDisk Cruzer Enterprise range as an excellent fit in both of these areas.”
