China Pavilion To Showcase Cost-Effective Solutions At Hardware+Tools Middle East

GROWING INTEREST IN CHINESE PRODUCTS AS TRADE TIES FLOURISH

TRADE BETWEEN THE UAE AND CHINA STOOD AT AROUND $35 MILLION IN 2011

Chinese companies are expected to figure increasingly prominently as providers of cost-effective solutions at the upcoming Hardware+Tools Middle East trade fair, the region’s trading and networking event for the hardware, tools and machinery industries.

With the economic outlook for the region looking steady, there is sustained demand for tools and machinery driven by healthy growth rates and a construction industry which is picking up once more. The Middle East market for hardware, tools and construction equipment and machinery is largely import driven, as there is little in the way of local manufacturing or production.

With China-UAE trade growing at an enviable pace – clocking up an impressive 35% year-on-year growth over the last ten years, growing numbers of Chinese manufacturers are eyeing the lucrative markets of the Middle East. Trade between the UAE and China stood at around $35 million in 2011 according to Chinese diplomatic sources.*

Chinese companies have gained a worldwide reputation of being able to provide materials and machinery at economical rates and their popularity as a source for tools and equipment is growing. They will be present at Hardware+Tools Middle East, displaying a range of machinery, equipment, tools, material and related products and services as part of the Chinese Pavilion.

“The growth of China as a global economic power has reflected in their companies playing an increasingly significant role in global trade,” said Ahmed Pauwels, Chief Executive Officer of Epoc Messe Frankfurt, organisers of Hardware+Tools Middle East. “The Chinese Pavilion at the event will present the entire spectrum of the product range offered by Chinese manufacturers and will offer regional buyers a great opportunity to gain access to them,” he added.

“Epoc Messe Frankfurt is also working with the various pavilions represented at the event to ensure that only genuine products are displayed as part of our corporate commitment and long term ‘Messe Frankfurt against copying’ campaign to protect our customers and fight counterfeiting,” Pauwels stated.

“As the most significant trade show for hardware, tools, equipment and machinery in the region, Hardware+Tools Middle East is a very significant event for Chinese companies who are interested in doing business here,” said Guo Kuilong of the China Chamber of Commerce for Import and Export of Machinery and Electronic Products.

“Given the excellent trade relations between China and the Middle East, Chinese companies look forward to working together with regional entities for our mutual benefit,” said Yin Haixing of the Council for Promotion of International Trade.

Hardware+Tools Middle East 2012, will run from May 8th to 10th at the Dubai International Convention and Exhibition Centre. With its region-wide reach, it has grown to be the premier dedicated trade fair for tools, hardware, materials and machinery. The exhibition will showcase the latest products in the categories of power and hand tools, measuring tools, pipe and plumbing tools, tool sets and cases, hardwares and consumables, compressors and plumbs, workshop and woodworking machinery.
