Professor Mark Watson-Gandy was nominated for the “Barrister of the Year” award as part of Credit Today’s 2009 Insolvency and Rescue Awards.

Professor Watson-Gandy was one of only three people short-listed for this prestigious award. He was nominated by two different professional clients: a firm of solicitors and a firm of insolvency practitioners. The nominations relate to his work and advocacy in insolvency law.

He teaches “Law for Business” on the Executive programme in addition to his work at 13 Old Square, a specialist chancery and commercial barristers’ chambers in Lincoln’s Inn. Watson-Gandy’s past clients have included a number of governments, the Italian Prime Minister, Silvio Berlusconi, and the film actress, Joan Collins.

The 2009 Insolvency and Rescue Awards were held on Wednesday 21 October at the Tower Hotel in London and are considered to be a celebration of best practice in the industry. Cass MBA Professor, Watson-Gandy said: “I was very pleased to be nominated and delighted to have been shortlisted to the final three.”
