Allen, Texas Coach Cancels Hip Hop Artist
Without notice, Coach Sean Weibling abruptly canceled Cutta C’s live performance. The canceled performance was scheduled during the Plano Athletics VS Allen Lady Eagles halftime intermission on February 5, 2010. Many Allen High School students and surrounding area teens were looking forward to Cutta C’s performance, which, incidentally, would have featured the radio edited version of his hit song.
The Allen High School Spirit Committee approached Club T Events to request entertainment during the halftime show because of the rave reviews they received from B-Hamp’s special appearance in December 2009. The planned performance came to a screeching halt by Coach Weibling. Although there are no apparent guidelines or policies surrounding halftime entertainment, after viewing Cutta C’s website, Coach Weibling determined that the artist would not be approved to perform at the High School.
Club T Events supports and endorses Cutta C; for those who are not familiar with Cutta C, he is not only a successful artist but also one of the most personable and humble entertainers in the industry. When approached about the halftime performance, Cutta C did not hesitate to want to give his time to the community. From Cutta C’s view, it’s all about making a difference and showing the youth in today’s society that anything is possible. But Cutta C will not be given the opportunity to perform at halftime of the Lady Eagles’ basketball game because Coach Weibling passed judgment and canceled the scheduled event.
Club T Events is very disappointed that Cutta C’s halftime appearance has been canceled; Club T Events will continue to look for opportunities to recognize and highlight emerging talent in the Dallas Metroplex as well as promote positive role models and community service. It is unfortunate that Coach Weibling’s decision overshadows such an outstanding individual and sends the wrong message to today’s youth.
