(Press Release) – Dec 26 2008 – Akadema has announced the signings of top prospects Mark Melancon (Yankees), Adam Miller (Indians) Cameron Maybin (Marlins) and Vinny Mazzaro (A’s). “All these players have the potential to be impact players and possible year in and year out all stars,” say Kris Totten VP Sales “We are very happy to have them representing the Akadema brand”.

Many consider Yankees prospect Mark Melancon the heir apparent to Mariano Rivera’s closer job. Melancon brings a mid 90′s fastball and hard slider to go along with his competitive, no fear approach on the mound. Top Indians prospect Adam Miller has had multiple set backs from injuries throughout his career but is healthy and will be pivotal piece in the Indians bullpen in 09. Miller is considered the Indians closer of the future. Top Marlins prospect Cameron Maybin will bring his five-tool talent to Florida in 09′ and be the everyday centerfielder. Maybin considered by many the top talent in all of Minor League baseball should be a fixture in the middle of the Marlins order. A’s pitching prospect and 2008 Minor League pitcher of the Year award winner Vinny Mazzaro will look to crack the A’s starting rotation in 09′.
