Lee Sing Mun left China in 1857 for the United States, first to search for gold and later to work on the railroads. Nor did he dream that one day, his legacy would span a multinational enterprise caught in a vicious circle of honour and sin.

Accidental Heroes, Accidental Villains is Ed Chung’s first novel. Chung is an award-winning academic who has published widely in applied anthropology, sociology, cultural studies, among others. Originally from Hong Kong, he moved to Canada when he was 17, and has lived and worked in different cultures since. He currently holds a tenured faculty position in a liberal arts college in Pennsylvania and lives in Maryland with his family.
